Table Skittles is a pub game traditionally played in Leicestershire and the surrounding counties.
The Dunton Bassett Skittle League operates both winter and summer seasons and can accommodate sixty teams (in five divisions) for the winter league, and forty teams (four divisions) in the summer. In the winter we also run a Knock Out Cup competition and a Pairs competition. The summer league includes a Singles competition and the Champions Shield is contested by the winners of the four divisions.
Rules vary from league to league but the basics are the same: three cheeses thrown underarm from the oche (nine feet from the front pin) giving a maximum possible score of 27. Teams in this league consist of eight players and these may be played in any order. Winter league matches are played over seven legs and summer league matches are won by the team with the highest number of pins.
